Two Preble County men were injured in an accident on a motorcycle Tuesday in Darke County. Around 4:20 PM yesterday – Darke County Deputies along with Greenville City Fire, Greenville Township Fire, Greenville Township Rescue and CareFlight were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 121 and Bishop Road on the report of a two-vehicle serious injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2003 GMC 1500 driven by 19-year-old William Koontz of Eaton, Ohio was stopped northbound on State Route 121 in traffic attempting to make a left turn onto Bishop Road. Koontz was rear ended by a northbound 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by 20-year-old Adam J Miller of Eaton. After impact, the Koontz vehicle remained on the roadway and Miller was ejected from the motorcycle.
Koontz was treated and released from the scene with no injuries. Miller sustained serious injuries and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. Koontz was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The Darke County Sheriff’s Office accident reconstruction team was called to the scene for further investigation.
This accident remains under investigation.
