Both drivers were injured in a two vehicle crash Thursday morning. According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office – around 9:05am yesterday – Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Fire, Greenville Township fire and Rescue were dispatched to the 8800 block of US Route 127 on the report of a two-vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer, driven by 39-year-old Robert L. Elisech of New Castle, Indiana was traveling northbound on US Route 127 when he traveled left of the centerline striking a 2024 Rumpke truck head-on. The Rumpke driver, James E. Miller was inside the stationary truck while in the course of his duties at the time of the accident.
Elisech was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by the Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) where he is listed in stable condition. Miller was transported to Wayne HealthCare with minor injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
