Two Darke County drivers were injured, with one of them cited, during a two vehicle crash early Monday. It was around 7:35 AM – when Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Township Rescue, Greenville Fire Department and Greenville Township Fire were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 121 and Childrens Home Bradford Road in reference to an injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2012 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 58-year-old Heidi Wolfe of Versailles was traveling southbound on State Route 121 when a westbound red 2019 Dodge Caravan, driven by 41-year-old Shawn Bertsch of Bradford failed to stop at the posted stop sign causing both vehicles to collide. The impact caused Wolfe’s vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway and overturn, coming rest on it’s top.
Wolfe and Bertsch were both transported to Wayne HealthCare with non-life threatening injuries.
Bertsch was issued a citation for failure to stop at a clearly marked stop sign.
