A Randolph County woman was killed, and a Darke County man suffered minor injuries in a crash on U-S 36 near Lynn, Indiana Thursday morning. According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office – around 8:30am yesterday (Thursday) the Randolph County 911 Center received a call of a Crash on US Highway 36 at Arba Pike East of Lynn. Units from Lynn Fire Department and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Initial investigation indicates a 2016 Buick Enclave, driven by 78-year-old Rosemarie Cowen Hartlage from Lynn, was southbound on Arba Pike at US HWY 36. After stopping at the posted stop sign, she pulled into the path of, a Freightliner semi-tractor trailer driven by 32-year-old Jared Travis Hart from Greenville, OH, that was eastbound on US HWY 36. The passenger side of the car was struck by the front of the semi – with both vehicles continuing east on 36 before coming to rest on the Highway.
Jared Hart was treated for minor injuries. Rosemarie Hartlage was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Randolph County Coroner’s Office.
Indiana State Police were contacted and conducted the crash reconstruction due to the involvement of the semi tractor.
