A Darke County High School Senior was injured in a crash early this morning. Just after 7:10 this (Monday) morning Darke County Deputies along with Pitsburg Fire Department and Arcanum Rescue and CareFlight, responded to the intersection of State Route 49 and Red River-West Grove Road for a two-vehicle injury crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed a red Hyundai Sonata driven by 18-year-old Allyson Waymire of Englewood was traveling northwest on State Route 49 when she collided with a black Lexus driven by 44-year-old Christopher Wilkins of Laura – who was stopped at the stop sign – and then pulled out into the intersection.
Waymire was transported to Miami Valley Hospital aboard CareFlight and Wilkins was uninjured in the crash.
