No injuries have been reported following a house fire in eastern Darke County early Thursday afternoon. At 12:10 PM, the Union City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 700 block of State Route 571 West.
When they arrived on the scene, crews encountered heavy fire and smoke coming from the back of the home. Firefighters initiated an aggressive transitional attack while requesting mutual aid to assist with the operation.
No injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters.
The Red Cross has been contacted to provide support to the affected family. Thanks to the quick actions of the team and the assistance of neighboring departments, the fire was effectively contained, limiting damage to the rear portion of the home.
