Multiple injuries have been reported as the result of a two-vehicle accident Sunday morning. Just before 10:15 am yesterday, Darke County Deputies along with Tri Village Rescue, and New Madison Fire responded to the intersection of US 127 and Hogpath on the report of a two vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2015 Ford Focus driven by 67-year-old Myron Atkins of Muncie, Indiana, was traveling eastbound on Hogpath. Atkins failed to yield the right of way while crossing the intersection traveling into the path of a 2022 Ford Explorer northbound on US 127 driven by 71-year-old Linda Kendig of Arcanum. Kendig struck Atkins vehicle in the passenger side with Atkins vehicle coming to rest in the rd., and Kendig’s vehicle exiting the road to the right striking a residence.
Atkin’s and his passenger Thersea Atkins as well as Kendig were transported to Wayne Memorial with non-life threatening injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by The Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
