Multiple injuries have been reported as the result of a two car crash Tuesday evening. Just after 7:00 Tuesday evening – Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Grenville City Fire, Tri Village Rescue, and CareFlight responded to the intersection of Stingley road and New Madison-Coletown road of a two vehicle accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2025 Nissan Altima, driven by 89-year-old Vernie Pritchett of Poland, Indiana, was traveling north on New Madison-Coletown road. A 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 39-year-old Brittany Shiverdecker of Greenville, was traveling west on Stingley road. Pritchett failed to yield at the posted stop sign, and drove into the pathway of Mrs. Shiverdecker, causing the two vehicles to collide.
Pritchett was transported to Wayne Healthcare to be treated for minor injuries. Her passenger, 91-year-old Marion Cain of Tucson, Arizona, was flown to Miami Valley Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Her condition is unknown at this time. Mrs. Shiverdecker, her passenger 38-year-old Joshua Shiverdecke of Greenville, and the juvenile passenger were uninjured as a result of this accident.
This accident remains under investigation.
