Multple injuries resulted from a crash, as the Labor Day weekend was getting underway.  Around 8:25p.m. Friday – Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Gettysburg Fire and Rescue, Greenville Township Rescue, and Care flight responded to the intersection of Childrens Home-Bradford road and Horatio- New Harrison road on the report of a two vehicle accident with injury.  

 Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by 38-year-old Brendan Whitford of Franklin, Ohio was traveling East on Childrens Home-Bradford. A 2020 Toyota Tacoma, driven by 56-year-old John Wyan of Bradford, was traveling South on Horatio- New Harrison. Whitford failed to yield the right of way to  Wyan at the posted stop sign.  Whitford was struck by Wyan.  

Mr. Whitford was transported to Wayne Hospital by EMS. His passengers 36-year-old Holly Witford of Franklin, Ohio and three juveniles were uninjured. Mr. Wyan was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center by Care flight, and his passenger 55-year-old Cheryl Newbold of Arcanum was transported to Wayne Hospital by EMS. All injuries are non-life threatening. This accident remains under investigation.
