A Darke County Teen is in an area hospital with serious injuries – following a head on crash late Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 4:25 p.m. yesterday – Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue and Greenville City Fire, responded to the 7300 block of State Route 121 for a two-vehicle head-on crash with injuries.
Preliminary investigation revealed a silver Chevy Equinox driven by 70-year-old Anthony Mader of Bradford, and front seat passenger 47-year-old Lori Perkins of Greenville, were traveling southbound on State Route 121 and crossed the centerline colliding head-on with a Ford dually pick-up truck driven by 19-year-old Christian Madowell of Greenville. The truck then traveled off the right side of the roadway overturning two times, which caused the cab of the truck to break off the frame, coming to rest upside down with the driver trapped inside. The driver was mechanically extricated from the cab. This driver was transported to Miami Valley Hospital aboard MedFlight for suspected serious injuries.
The driver and passenger of the Equinox, were transported to Wayne HealthCare for suspected minor injuries. It’s suspected, the driver of the Equinox suffered a medical event which caused him to travel left-of-center.
The Darke County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team also assisted with this investigation.
