Two people were injured in a crash and one of the drivers was cited – heading into the weekend. Around 7:45pm Friday – Darke County Deputies, along with Versailles EMS and Versailles Fire responded to the intersection of State Route 185 and Conover Road regarding a traffic crash with unknown injuries. Investigation revealed a 2006 Pontiac Vibe, driven by 19-year-old Nathan Myers of Versailles, was at a posted stop sign on Conover Road. Myers failed to yield the right of way and traveled Northbound into the pathway of a 2021 Honda Pilot, driven by 66-year-old Cynthia Geise, of Coldwater, who was traveling Northwest-bound on State Route 185. Geise’s vehicle struck Myers’ vehicle on the passenger side, causing Myers to go off road into a ditch culvert before coming to rest. Geise was transported by Versailles EMS to Wayne Hospital where she was being treated for suspected minor injuries. Myers was issued a citation for Failure to Yield.
