Multiple injuries have been reported as the result of a two-vehicle crash early Thursday afternoon.  Around 1:15 p.m. today/yesterday – Darke County Deputies along with New Madison Fire, Tri-Village and Greenville Township Rescue responded to the intersection of U.S. 127 and U.S. 36 West for a two-vehicle injury crash. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a black Chevy Suburban, driven by 26-year-old Amber Castle of Palestine was traveling eastbound on U.S. 36 and stopped at the intersection of U.S. 127.  Also inside this vehicle was her front seat passenger and a 15-month-old baby.  Castle then entered the intersection attempting to travel north on U.S. 127 and was struck by a southbound white Honda Civic, driven by 78-year-old Jane Smith of West Manchester.   Jane and her front seat passenger 81-year-old Byron Smith – were both transported to Wayne Health for minor injuries and Castle was also transported to Wayne Health for a possible minor injury.   The baby and front seat passenger of the Suburban were uninjured.
