Alcohol is believed to be a factor in an injury accident early Sunday morning.  According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office – deputies along with New Madison Fire and Tri Village Rescue – responded to the 3200-block of State Route 121, on the report of a single-vehicle injury crash into a tree.  The preliminary investigation reveals a black Chevy Silverado pick-up truck, driven by 30-year0old Jacob Wiford of New Madison, was traveling southbound on State Route 121 when he failed to negotiate a curve.  The truck drove off the right side of the roadway into the ditch striking several small trees and then head-on into a large tree.  The driver was transported to Wayne HealthCare for minor injuries. The Darke County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate this crash.
