Two people were injured in a Saturday evening accident. It was just before 8pm Saturday – when Darke County Deputies along with Liberty Township Fire Department and Tri-Village Rescue were dispatched to the 800 block of U.S. 36 West in Greenville on the report of an injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a silver Lexus ES was traveling east on U.S. 36 near Hillgrove-Southern Road. The driver 83-year-old Samuel Wyrick of Troy, Ohio failed to negotiate the curve causing him to drive off the road and roll over.
Wyrick and his passenger, 77-year-old Rebecca Wyrick of Troy were transported to Wayne Healthcare for minor injuries sustained from the crash.
Samuel Wyrick was issued a citation for failure to maintain reasonable control. Speed unsafe for the conditions of the roadway is a suspected contributing factor.
