Two people were injured – with one treated in Greenville, and the other victim taken to Dayton – in an accident Saturday Night. Around 11:50pm on September 6 – Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Rescue, Greenville Township Rescue, New Madison Fire, and CareFlight responded to the 3700 Block of McNutt Road on the report of a single vehicle accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2013 Ford Taurus, driven by 19-year-old Lillie Shellabarger of Arcanum – was traveling northwest on McNutt Road. She drove left of center and overcorrected her vehicle sliding into a bean field. Once off the roadway the vehicle rolled coming to a rest on its top. While the vehicle was rolling the passenger, 19-year-old Lily Shuttleworth of Pitsburg, Ohio was ejected from the vehicle. Shellabarger was transported to Wayne Hospital and Shuttleworth was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. All injuries are non-life threatening.
This accident remains under investigation.
