WAGNER AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT - November 20, 2019
Greenville City Council met on Tuesday, for their regularly scheduled meeting and on the agenda under old business was a resolution for the Wagner Avenue Improvement project. The motion declaring a necessity for assessments for Wagner Avenue was given its third reading by title only and then tabled at a previous meeting. That item was removed from the table and then Council Member John Hensley made an amendment to the motion to include an amortization schedule. The City Auditor, Roxanne Willman, during the administrative report, informed council that a meeting was held with Council Members Hensley and Clarence Godwin to go over payments the city will make for the project. Over the next 30 years, Greenville will pay over $13,800 annually for the Wagner Avenue Road Widening Project. With the amendment, Council approved the resolution moving forward on the project. Hensley thanked the auditor and Economic Development Director, Mike Bowers, who was also present during the meeting, the 2 played a big role in introducing the amortization schedule. In other business, council approved 5 ordinances and resolutions. The next City Council meeting will be Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:30 in the City Building.
